MEET OUR TEACHER JULIE KONETT
Dear Preschool Parents, My name is Julie Konett and I am so excited to be a part of the Brighton Cooperative Preschool family! I began teaching at the coop in 2014 and love watching the children learn and grow throughout their first school experiences. I would love to tell you a little bit about myself as we begin our school year together.

I grew up in Farmington Hills, MI and graduated from North Farmington High School. After high school, I moved to Kalamazoo, MI and attended Western Michigan University. I earned my Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education; my major was Elementary Education with a double minor in Reading and Mathematics & Science. In 2015, I earned my Masters Degree in Middle Level Mathematics at Walden University.

While attending college in Kalamazoo, I met my husband, Nicholas. Together we have two children, Johnathan and Olivia. Johnathan keeps us very busy with hockey and baseball and Olivia with skating and dance. Olivia is a graduate of the coop!

Before having my own children, I spent four years teaching in Kalamazoo. I taught second grade for three years and kindergarten and young 5's for 1 year. I also spent one summer teaching high-school students in a maximum security juvenile detention center.

I absolutely love teaching and love working in a cooperative learning environment. I look forward to working with all of you and sharing a fun and exciting school year with you! I am here for you if you have any question or concerns.

Very sincerely, Julie Konett
